Joker: Folie à Deux trailer is finally out now. The musical sequel to the 2019 film Joker starring Oscar winners Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, has been finally revealed. The trailer depicts Phoenix returning as the titular Arthur Fleck aka Joker an aspiring stand-up comedian turned villain, and Lady Gaga as Dr Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist assigned to treat Fleck at Arkham Asylum who later falls in love with him and later becomes his accomplice Harley Quinn. The title of the movie references a psychiatric syndrome which creates a delusional state that is shared by two people. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.

The trailer of the movie dropped on April 10.Joker: Folie à Deux is a musical that will include 15 numbers as per the reports of Variety. Moreover, most of the songs will be the covers of pre-existing songs, including That’s Entertainment from the 1953 musical The Band Wagon, famously sung by Judy Garland. Moreover, the trailer also features the 1965 song What the World Needs Now Is Love.
Although director Todd Phillips, who originally said the first film was “always pitched it as one movie” however, he noted he would be interested in making more if Phoenix was included.
Right after the trailer released the fans started decoding the plot, this led to one to ask, “Why does it feel like Harley is just Arthur’s fragment of imagination?”
meanwhile another asked, “Harley being a figment of Joker’s imagination just seems a little too obvious?”
Moreover, Phoenix also shared his excitement about acting on the film previously in an interview with Rolling Stone. He said, “I can’t stop thinking about it … if there’s something else we can do with Joker that might be interesting”, adding that he believed there were “endless … possibilities of where we can go with the character.”
Joker created box office history when it was released in 2019. The movie also goes on becoming the first R-rated film ever to gross over USD$1bn. Later on, the film gained immense recognition including an award at the Golden Lion at the Venice international film festival and was nominated for 11 Oscars, winning two including the Best Actor and Best Original Score.
Joker: Folie à Deux will hit the big screen in cinemas on 4 October.
