Travis Kelce looked back on the inception of his relationship with his girlfriend Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end reflected on his high-profile relationship with the Grammy winner on Wednesday’s episode of his New Heights podcast, opening up to guest Lil Dicky (a.k.a. Dave Burd). The conversation turned to their romance when Travis’s brother and co-host, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, noted that their audience includes several Swifties. Dicky then offered his take on the public adoration for Travis and Swift’s romance. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Dave Burd and the Kelce brothers have a candid conversation about Travis’s romance
During the conversation, Burd asked, “I just think there’s something that makes everyone feel like the world is kind of like high school, where your most popular pop star, like, beloved musician somehow met, like, your most popular beloved athlete, and they actually fell in love and it’s real, I dunno, I think anyone who hates on it is a bitter loser. But I think a lot of people who [you] would maybe expect to hate on it actually love it and acknowledge they love it because there’s just something so American about it or something. There’s something just classic about it.’
In response Travis cracked a joke, saying, “I don’t know how I did it because she was not into sports. So I don’t know how the f**k I did it.”
Burd goes on to remind Travis of his popular comment that he unsuccessfully attempted to deliver his phone number to the “Anti-Hero” singer via a friendship bracelet at one of her Eras Tour concerts at Kansas City, Missouri.
Later on, in an interview with Times Swift called his move “metal as hell. I know exactly how I did it,” Travis noted.
Although the first effort becomes unsuccessful it doesn’t stop them from bumping into each other and instantly connecting with each other. The couple also seems to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders since Taylor was present throughout the Super Bowl season and even by his side when the Chiefs won in February, while Travis supported her girlfriend at the Eras Tour in California and the Bahamas.
