The Amazing Spider-Man alum Andrew Garfield opened up about his late mother. The actress believed his mother’s spirit is always by his side. Garfield’s mother Lynn passed away due to pancreatic cancer in 2019. In a recent interview with GQ, the actor said a lot of facts about his late mother.
Andrew Garfield said his mother’s spirit will be there for his kids
On November 15, in an interview with GQ magazine, the actor opened up about how his mother will be there for his children. “Life seems to be a perpetual practice of letting s–t go, Letting go of an idea of how a thing should look, or be, or feel. And that one’s a big one [to let go of], because of course I would’ve loved my mum to have met my kids if I’m going to have kids. And she will. In spirit. She’ll be there for it. I know she’s there, for all the big ones.”-the 39-year-old said.
The Tick, Tick…Boom! alum, later on, talked about his future plans of having children. “Releasing myself from the societal obligation of procreating by the time I’m 40 has been an interesting thing to do with myself. It’s more about accepting a different path than what was kind of expected of me from birth. Like, ‘By this time you will have done this, and you will have at least one child’—that kind of thing. I think I have some guilt around that. And obviously, it’s easier for me as a man.”- he revealed
The actor is certain if he ever becomes a father his mother will be present by his side in a different form.
Previously in 2021, after Garfield lost his mother he opened up about her legacy. “I love talking about her, by the way, so if I cry. This is all the unexpressed love, the grief that will remain with us until we pass because we never get enough time with each other, no matter if someone lives until 60, 15, or 99.”- the actor said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
