Chinese Vaccine for coronavirus has proven to give less effectiveness according to the country’s top disease control official. Chinese government is considering to mix the vaccines to give them a boost.
Gao Fu is director of the China Centers for Disease Control. According to him, vaccines don’t have very high protection rates. Gao Fu expressed it during a conference on Saturday in the southwestern city of Chengdu.
Beijing has served hundreds of millions of doses in other countries. Beijing is also trying to encourage doubt about the effectiveness of Western vaccines.
It’s now under formal consideration if we should use different vaccines from various technical lines for the immunization process, Gao expressed.
The rate of effectiveness of a COVID-19 vaccine from Sinovac, a Chinese developer, at preventing symptomatic infections has been proven to be as low as 50.4 per cent by researchers in Brazil. By comparison, the vaccine made by Pfizer has been proven to be 97% effective.
Beijing has not approved any foreign vaccines for use in China, where the coronavirus emerged in late 2019.
Gao gave no information regarding possible changes in strategy. But he mentioned in mRNA, a previously experimental technique used by Western vaccine developers while China’s drug makers used traditional technology.
Gao said that everyone must consider the advantages mRNA vaccines can bring for humanity. We must follow it carefully and not avoid it just because we already have numerous types of vaccines already.
