Continuation of young cricketers to perform unmatched in debut match for India

India’s decision to make their players debut once again proved to be right when all-rounder Krunal Pandya played the first ODI against England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Tuesday and the fastest half-century ever in his debut match. Made it. During the last few months, many such cricketers including Pandya have made their debut for India and have been able to make an impact in their debut match.

Washington Sundar made his fourth and final Test debut against Australia in Brisbane, where he scored 62 in the first innings and 22 in the second innings, besides taking four wickets.

Sundar’s 62-run innings proved to be a match-turning innings, when he had a brilliant partnership with only his second Test playing Shardul Thakur and also took seven wickets.

Apart from him, T Natarajan made his international cricket debut for India in all three formats in Australia. Natarajan took three wickets in his first Test match played in Brisbane.

Prior to Natarajan, the players who made their international debut for India on the tour of Australia include fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, opener Shubman Gill and fast bowler Navdeep Saini. All of them had played limited overs cricket before that.

Siraj and Gill contributed significantly to India winning the Test. In that series, Siraj set the record for the highest number of over-throws for India and he also took 13 wickets. Gill also scored 259 runs at an average of 51.8 with the help of two half-centuries.

India started the Test series with a defeat against England at home. But after this Akshar Patel made his Test debut and then he played a crucial role in winning India in the 3–1 Test series by taking 27 wickets in the last three Tests.

After this, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav made their debut in international cricket in the T20 series along with England. Ishaan and Suryakumar both scored half-centuries in their debut matches.

Suryakumar scored 57 runs off 31 balls in the second T20 as he did not have a turn to bat in the first match. Ishaan had scored 56 runs in 32 balls, opening in the first T20.

On Tuesday, in the first match of the ODI series against England, Krunal Pandya and fast bowler M Famous Krishna made their ODI debut. While Krunal hit a half-century, Krishna took four wickets.

In early 2000 too, a number of players made the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly and made a strong core team from India, which later went on to win the 2007 T20 World Cup and then the 2011 World Cup.

Both Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh made their debut against Kenya in the pre-quarterfinals of the Champions Trophy. Harbhajan made his ODI and Test debut in 1998. Before that, Rahul Dravid and Ganguly made their Test debut in the 1996 tour of England.
