Gigi Hadid’s vaccination turned out to be a little dramatic. As per the source, the supermodel and her friend Leah McCarthy, were arrested and released afterwards in the Cayman Islands after customs officials found marijuana from them. The supermodel’s rep said about the incident, “Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in New York City with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island,”
The news was first shared by local Cayman Island newspaper, Cayman Mal Road. The newspaper revealed the 28-year-old and her friend were in “suspicion Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja.” Moreover, it says that they were then taken to the Prisoner Detention Center, and were released on bail after sometime.
The women appeared at the summary court two days after their arrest. Therefore, they pleaded guilty and were fined $1,000. Moreover, there is no record of the conviction for them.
However, none of them have publicly spoken out about their arrest but on Tuesday McCarthy shared some glimpses of their vaccination. She shared a series of pictures including her and Hadid posing in bikinis. Meanwhile, Hadid, who shares 2-year old daughter Khai with ex-boyfriend Zyan Malik also posted some pictures on her Instagram writing, “All’s well that ends well🌅.”
