H&M decided to Ghost singer Justin Bieber’s merchandise after receiving backlash from him. On December 19, The ‘Stay’ singer posted a story on Instagram and requested fans to not buy these goods. He said the brand didn’t ask for permission before launching these. After Biber’s statement, the brand removed his merchandise.
H&M said they followed proper approval procedures
After Biber’s statement, the famous brand issued a statement to E-news where it was revealed to remove his merchandise.
“H&M has followed proper approval procedures. Out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber, we have removed the garments from our stores and online.”- the company said.
The 28-year-old singer bashed the brand on December 19 on his Instagram story.
The singer wrote, “I didn’t approve [sic] any of the merch collections that they put up at H&M. all without my permission and approval SMH.”
Moreover, he also urged his fans to boycott this merchandise. “I wouldn’t buy it if I were you. The H&M merch they made of me is trash and I didn’t approve it don’t buy it.”
He added, “When everyone finds out I didn’t approve any of this merch smh.”
The merchandise includes a tote bag, a shirt, and a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt has his famous song ‘Ghost’s line “I miss you more than life” and the hoodies say “World Tour”.
H&M then noted, “As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures.”
However, the brand previously 2017 released the singer’s merchandise. And the ‘Holy’ singer also then promoted these goods on Twitter.
Needless to say, their relationship isn’t gonna be the same. The singer isn’t on good terms with the brand. Biber’s last album ‘Justice’ gained a lot of popularity so it’s obvious that his songs are a good way to sell goods.
