Kate Middleton’s work schedule is finally revealed. Nearly two months after the Princess of Wales shared her cancer diagnosis, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace shared an update on Kate’s potential return to her public duties. On May 21, the Princess’s rep shared a statement to BBC about the news. While announcing her diagnosis Kate aka Catherine revealed that she is going through preventative chemotherapy. However, the type of stage of her cancer hasn’t been kept under wraps. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Kate Middleton is not expected to return to work
The Kensington Palace told BBC, “The princess is not expected to return to work. until it’s cleared by her medical team.”
The Princess and her husband Prince William’s children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 have been staying out of the spotlight ever since she went public with her cancer diagnosis in March. At the time of the announcement, the 42-year-old said she was in the early stages of preventive chemotherapy as recommended by her doctors. Although the Princess’s abdominal surgery in January was successful, cancer had been present.
The Princess said of her medical team, “But I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
“As you can imagine, this has taken time,” the mother of three said of her health journey in a Instagram video posted to her and William’s social media. “It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”
Moreover, she also added her husband is “a great source of comfort and reassurance” during this tough time of their young family.
“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment,” she added. “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”
