Palak Muchhal said Bollywood music is going through a transition
The 32-year-old told the outlet, “Because we are evolving with time, the storytelling style has changed, and what people are accepting has changed in terms of cinema. Music is a part of cinema. If you’re talking about Bollywood music, per se.”
Therefore, she acknowledged the changes in the music scenario while pointing out the essentiality of adaptability during such transitional periods.
“that whenever that turnover happens, that’s a very important time for creative people. And in such times, also, if I’m getting to sing good songs, I feel that those songs are very significant in terms of their contribution towards the change in time,” she explained.
The singer continues,”And that’s why that sincerity, that focus, that alertness is quite a lot. It’s much more than before, because earlier we were going with the flow, and I think now the time is within the span of, I would say, a transition zone. So that’s why that focus is on understanding the significance of your role in the whole process. I feel, in terms of my performance. But my application is pretty much the same.”
She noted about her approach to discrete any lyrics,”I’m really happy that the music composers are calling me for songs and songs that I am excited about. Now, composers know that I wouldn’t sing a song that has lyrics that I wouldn’t associate with or don’t relate with. So, in that sense, I’m happy that I’m getting to do significant work.”
As for her current career scale, she revealed that, “Professionally, I find myself in a very peaceful space.”
Moreover, she also reflected on her humble beginnings and expressed her gratitude for the opportunities she get in her career.
“I thought that maybe someday I’ll get to sing one song in some film after years but I got my first break very soon, followed by some incredible songs,” Palak recalled.
Despite achieving immense fame within a short period of time she chooses to remain grounded and generous as she shared, “Right now I’m in a very peaceful professional space. I feel content. At the same time, I feel enthusiastic about what is to be followed. But I’m in a very happy, comfortable space.”
