Panchayat’s Jitendra Kumar and Chandan Roy shared their experiences of shooting during peak summer. The show has been set in a village in Madhya Pradesh since its inception. In a recent appearance on Radio Nasha Jitendra Kumar and Chandan Roy revealed that the villagers thought they were crazy for shooting in this deadly heat. Let’s check out the complete details of this.

Jitendra Kumar and Chandan Roy shared their experience on shooting season 3 in peak summer

Chandan Roy said of hardships, “Ab toh aadat si ho gayi hai” (Now we are used to it). As Jitendra Kumar puts it, “We try to shoot in two schedules because when people go from the city to the village, they face various situations. Compared to the first season, we have a lot more comfort now. We are equipped to face certain situations. However, we are now mentally prepared before we go for the shoot. When you shoot under the top sun, your eyes get closed, so actors face a lot of problems, but the crew also stands there in the sun.”

Moreover, the show’s director, Deepak Kumar shared how the natives themselves avoid the blazing sun and they got extremely worried to see them filming in the afternoon.

“Even villagers don’t come out during those hours. They finish their work before 9 in the morning and then come out in the evening. They know that this heat is deadly, but in that heat, we shoot for the show.” he said, “They tell us, ‘Are you crazy? Why don’t you work in the morning and in the evening?’”

As for the face demands from the villagers Jitendra said, “They sometimes ask us to show their houses in the show.”

To which Deepak added, “They often ask us to show only positive, auspicious scenes when we shoot in their house. They don’t want fighting or any inauspicious scenes to be shot in their house. Sometimes, they promise to give their house for shooting but refuse the next day. They demand an appearance in the show in exchange for allowing us to shoot in their house. One time, a guy did the same thing to us. I asked him what he could do. He said, ‘I can eat burning camphor.’ That guy is in the title credits of the show.”
