Reese Witherspoon is going her separate ways from her husband Jim Toth. The couple has been married for almost 12 years. Moreover, they even share an 11-year-old son Tennessee. The couple tied the knot in 2011. Witherspoon is previously married to actor Ryan Phillippe with whom she had a daughter Ava Phillippe and a son Deacon Phillippe. On March 24, the couple announced this shocking news via their social media.
Reese Witherspoon released her divorce statement two days before her 12th Anniversary
The Morning Show alum released the statement just two days before her and Toth’s 12th marriage anniversary. The statement says, “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.”
Moreover, it added, “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together. Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”
The 47-year-old got married to a talent scout in 2011. Moreover, she also shared a son with the 57-year-old. In an Interview with EllE in 2012 the actress recalled the moment of first meeting with her husband. She said, “Jim came over and said, ‘Please excuse my friend. He’s just broken up with someone. Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That’s just kind of who he is, a really good person.”
Last year, the actress also posted their photo with a sweet note on their 11th anniversary. She captioned the post, “Happy Anniversary JT!! 11 years of adventures, love, laughter. I feel so lucky to share this wonderful life with you.”
