Selena Gomez opened up about the most vulnerable side of her life. The songstress who recently welcomed the billionaire’s club has always been vocal about her health journey. Therefore in an interview with Vanity Fair’s October issue, she revealed that she can’t have any biological children. However, she is still optimistic about her motherhood and plans to have children with the medical alternatives available to her.
The ‘Wolf’ singer who is all set to achieve a new milestone in her personal life by celebrating one year together with boyfriend Benny Blanco noted she was about to opt for adoption before her boyfriend came into her life. Let’s check out the complete details of her interview.
Selena Gomez noted she can’t get pregnant due to medical issues
The Rare Beauty Founder told the outlet, “I haven’t ever said this but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”
However, this unfortunate development didn’t make the 32-year-old plan to have kids with the grateful for the medical alternatives available to her.
The Only Murders in the Building added, “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”
Selena continues, “I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”
The ‘Rare’ singer also noted how she planned to adopt a kid before meeting her boyfriend Benny Blanco.
“Before I met my boyfriend, I was single for five years, with the exception of going on a few dates,” she noted. “And I was like, ‘Okay, if this is the vibe, then what is the most important thing to me? Family.’”
Gomez and Blanco were indeed in the same phase since he noted having kids was his “next goal on the box.”
The singer also added, “He can’t lie. After the interview, I was dying laughing. Like, ‘Anything else you wanted to put out there?’”
As for their romance she noted, “I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
