As, the Fifth Harmony said it in their single, “We can work from home”, it’s generally not such a good or bad experience to sing your acceptance about it. Working from home has its own good and bad consequences.
Although, the percentage of people working from home has increased exponentially during the pandemic. One of the benefits of work from home right now, should definitely be controlling the spread of the virus. So, we are going to list them out for you in this article.
Benefits of working from home:
Saves Time: It ends the need for travelling for hours to reach the work place. In a way, working from home could actually get you proper sleep at night.
Helps minimize the interaction: Working from home generally doesn’t involve facing all your ‘judgy’ office mates and of course your boss. Working from home has to be the best experience for all the introverts out there!
Saves Effort too: Waking up early to get ready along with making breakfast and eating it costs a lot of time when you have to work somewhere else and not at home. While working at home, you don’t necessarily need to do all this formality. You may as well eat while working from home!
Prevents superfluous stress and tension: Facing things online is generally a little less traumatic than going through them face to face. Getting late? The Stress boost is already on its way! Forgot an important document to work? You’re screwed!
Saves money as well: While being at home, your mind won’t be distracted by the futile things and food items offered by the outside world. Also, it helps save your travel expenses too.
Limitations of work from Home:
No Discipline: While working from home, you generally forget to maintain a decorum required for quality work. There is no schedule planning and lack of focus along with many other distractions.
Wrong Posture: We forget about time while working at home. Study says, time’s not the only thing we overlook, we also disremember sitting in correct posture while working. This causes unnecessary strains, neck and back pains.
Family Drama: If you live with your family, then there is a constant disturbance by some or the other family member or some or the other thing associated with them. You know what I mean!
No Physical experiences/Boredom: While working at home, you generally don’t meet any new people and therefore you feel like you’re kinda struck in a loop. This loop becomes a habit sooner or later. As a result, you’re left with social anxiety.
