Angelina Jolie shared the reason her and Brad Pitt’s kids are not interested in being actors in the entertainment industry. The actress who appeared at the AFI premiere of her new film Maria in Los Angeles on Oct. 27 shares that she doesn’t expect her kids to follow in her footsteps. Jolie is the mother to six children Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox sharing with ex Brad Pitt.
For now, Jolie is busy promoting the upcoming movie which will hit the theatres on November 27 and streamed on Netflix on December 11. Let’s see what details the actress has shared.
Angelina Jolie said her children want to be private
During an interview on the red carpet of AFI, the 49-year-old shared, “No, I think they’re especially shy, very private people. and they want to be private.”
While her children are likely to be in showbiz, Jolie is achieving numerous milestones with her upcoming release such as an Oscar buzz award. The Maleficent star describes the praise “feels really nice.”
“Any support, or anything that says you did your job well,” she added, “especially when it’s one when you care about so much, it means a lot.”
Despite being out of the spotlight Angelina and Brad’s children are not strangers to the industry since their two oldest kids worked as assistants for director Pablo Larrain in Maria.
In August of this year during a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the proud mother shared the details of the work of her kids in the upcoming venture.
“Mad and Pax were on this one doing AD [assistant directing] work,” she shared. “They’ve done that quite a few times, and I think that’s good for them.”
Jolie continues, “Pax tends to do stills and he gets brought in, and Pablo was wonderful and recognized that he was good at it.”
Moreover, Jolie describes how the support of her kids on the set helps her to take on such an emotionally challenging role of the famed opera singer Maria Callas.
“I have never had a set where my family is not allowed to be there because I’m focusing—I’m not that person,” the Eternals actress noted. “You can climb all over me or visit. It really meant a lot that my boys were with me on Maria. When I would have really heavy times, they would come over and just give me a hug or a cup of tea.”
“That was probably one of the more intense things was that—usually when I’m expressing that much pain, it’s not in front of my children,” Angelina continues. “You really try to hide from your children how much pain and sadness you carry. And so for them to be with you when you’re expressing it at such a level, I think it was the first time they ever heard me cry like that. That’s usually for the shower.”
