Australia is in no hurry to reopen its International Borders and risk the country’s nearly coronavirus-free lifestyle, as per Scott Morrison, The Prime Minister of Australia.
In March 2020, Australian borders were closed. The borders were closed for all non-residents as well as non-citizens of the country. It had been permitting only limited international arrivals in recent months which mainly included its citizens.
Australia is been recognized as one of the most successful countries in the world for curbing the pandemic. This is due to the border closure, together with lockdowns, swift contact tracking, and high community compliance with health measures. The country has limited the number of coronavirus to less than 29,500 and 910 deaths.
“Australia is in no hurry to open these borders, I assure you” says Morrison. “I will not be putting at risk the way we are living in this country which is so different from the rest of the world today” says Morrison,
Australia is now able to live freely from months, it has only face some short snap lockdowns. Australians are now able to dine out, gather around freely and be mask-free in most of the places.
