The 59-year-old acknowledged her fans and well-wishers in the statement saying, “I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Let me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming.”

Moreover, The Wendy Williams Show host is also said to be touched by the kind words, adding these messages  are reminding her of “the power of unity and the need for compassion.”

Nevertheless, the tv star who walked away from her 2022 due to her health conditions is aimed to spread awareness about the neurological condition.

“I want to also thank the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration for their kind words of support,” Williams continues, “and their extraordinary efforts to raise awareness of FTD.”

She concluded her statement noting she still needs “personal space and peace to thrive,” adding, “Please just know that your positivity and encouragement are deeply appreciated.”

The news about her condition first came up on February 22 from her healthcare team who noted that the condition has already created some significant difficulty in Wendy’s communication abilities and cognitive functions.

“The decision to share this news was difficult and made after careful consideration, not only to advocate for understanding and compassion for Wendy,” her team revealed, “but to raise awareness about aphasia and frontotemporal dementia and support the thousands of others facing similar circumstances.”

“Unfortunately, many individuals diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia face stigma and misunderstanding,” the statement continued, “particularly when they begin to exhibit behavioral changes but have not yet received a diagnosis.”

Actor Bruce Willis has also been diagnosed and battling this disease. Later on, the statement concluded in a hopeful note adding that the tv host despite of the condition is still able to do things on her own.

“Most importantly she maintains her trademark sense of humor,” the message noted, “and is receiving the care she requires to make sure she is protected and that her needs are addressed.”
