HBO’s popular drama series Euphoria might not get released sooner. The series which gained immense popularity and recognition for its last two seasons had been delayed even longer. On March 25, HBO shared an official statement via Variety revealing the reason for its delay. Needless to say, fans have to wait much longer for this much anticipated third season. Let’s check out what the network has said in the statement.
HBO is allowing the in-demand Euphoria cast to pursue other opportunities
HBO said in the statement, “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
Since Euphoria season two wrapped in January 2022 fans are eagerly waiting for the third installment which supposedly got shelved for its original 2025 premiere date.
Moreover, there has been a lot going on with the entire cast with Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi’s busy schedule leading up to the tragic death of Angus Cloud in July of last year at the age of 25. Apart from that actress Barbie Ferreira who played the role of Kate also announced her exit from the show.
Although the details of the new season is still not revealed yet the show’s creator Sam has revealed in an August interview with Elle the third season is most likely to focus on Zendaya’s character Rue.
“She’s the most competitive person I know, in a good way,” he said. “She’s constantly growing as an artist and always seeking a challenge. She’s never complacent.”
Moreover, Sam explained he’s hoping to shoot the season “film noir” style through Rue’s eyes to “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
Meanwhile, actor Jacob Elordi also joked about his age on the show during his appearance in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in January.
Elordi told Fallon, “I hope [filming is] soon, otherwise they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something, I’m going to have, like, a bad back, walking down the hallway.”
He continues, “I’m assuming that we’re going to have to go forward. Otherwise it’s going to seem like a weird bit.”
For now we all can wait for the third season.
