Amy Schumer addressed the recent criticism she is facing for her “Puffier” face. After the actress appeared in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The View, recently netizens started pointing out the difference in her appearance which later turned into harsh criticism. On February 15, the actress finally talked about the trolling she is facing for her appearance in an Instagram post. Let’s check out what she had said.
Amy Schumer said some medical and hormonal things going on in her world
The actor wrote while sharing the poster of her Hulu show Life & Beth, “Thank you so much for everyone’s input about my face! I’ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance as all women do for almost 20 years. And you’re right it is puffier than normal right now.”
The 42-year-old revealed the changes in her appearance come as a consequence of her battle with endometriosis which is an autoimmune disease that causes the uterus lining to grow outside of the organ.
“There are some medical and hormonal things going on in my world right now but I’m okay,” she continued. “I also believe a woman doesn’t need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation. But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self-love and acceptance of the skin you’re in.”
Later on, the actress who welcomed her son Gene with husband Chris Fisher in 2019 gave an inspirational message about body image. She added, “Like every other women/person, some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head. But I feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this tv show I created. Wrote. Starred in and directed. Maybe just maybe we can focus on that for a little.”
Previously, in February 2022 the actress also shared a candid message on Instagram about her motherhood.
“Being his mom is heaven on earth and also means a constant feeling of guilt and vulnerability I will never get used to, Your heart feels like it’s outside your body and you’re too old to drink the feelings away like you used to. When you were in love and scared. Send help!!!,” she wrote.
For now, Schumer is looking forward to the release of the second season of her Hulu show.
