Barry Keoghan makes an appearance in girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Please Please Please’ music video. The music video directed by Bardia Zeinali continues with Carpenter in jail after she was arrested at the end of her “Espresso” song’s video and shows her falling for a convict, played by Keoghan. The music video was dropped today June 7. The single “Please Please Please” is part of the upcoming album, Short n’ Sweet, which is coming out Aug. 23. Sabrina Carpenter explains the music video
The 25-year-old told Vogue via email, “I ended the last video getting arrested, so naturally I thought it would be satisfying to start the ‘Please Please Please’ video in jail. I liked the idea of falling in love with a convict and being shocked and embarrassed every time he commits crimes. I was sooo lucky to get Barry Keoghan in the video cause he is just magic on screen.”
The single “Please Please Please” is part of the upcoming album, Short n’ Sweet, which is coming out Aug. 23.
As for her personal life, Carpenter has been linked to Keoghan since the end of 2023 after her much-hyped rumoured romance with Shawn Mendes.
Although the couple hasn’t publicly addressed their relationship Keoghan raised eyebrows after travelling to Singapore to support Carpenter’s opening gig on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
Moreover, the 31-year-old also wrote the singer a ” friendship bracelet” shortly after the pair finally posed together at Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party. Therefore, things really heated up between the couple at Coachella.
Meanwhile, Carpenter also referenced Keoghan’s famous Saltburn bathwater scene in her “Nonsense” outro, the lyrics says, “Man his knees so weak he had to spread mine / He’s drinkin’ my bathwater like it’s red wine / Coachella, see you back here when I headline.”
Later on, they also appeared together at the 2024 Met Gala and also spotted kissing in a video from the event. The singer looked drop-dead gorgeous in a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown, which featured a black velvet bodice and a satin bouffant skirt while her boyfriend wore a Burberry suit complete with a velvet jacket and a ruffled silk poplin shirt.
