Actor Chris Hemsworth is keeping record straight about the false reports of his Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Nearly two years after revealing his increased risk for developing Alzheimer’s he is finally giving a full stop to all the rumors that he has formally diagnosed with the type of dementia and is retiring. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair’s latest edition, the actor revealed he is immensely upset with the false claims. Dementia has been in the talk of the town of Hollywood following Bruce Willis and Wendy Williams’ diagnoses of frontotemporal dementia. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.

Chris Hemsworth said that the reports have really kind of pissed him off

The Marvel star told the magazine, “It really kind of pissed me off because it felt like I had been vulnerable with something personal and shared this. No matter how much I said ‘This is not a death sentence,’ the story became that I have dementia and I’m reconsidering life and retiring and so on.”

The 40-year-old previously revealed that he learned the risk of this disease after he underwent genetic testing for an episode of his Disney+ and National Geographic series, Limitless. Moreover, in one episode of the series it was revealed that the father of three carries two copies of the APOE4 gene making him an eight to 10 times higher risk of developing the disease than someone in the general population.

The Furiosa star said of the incident  “I did read a really funny comment at the bottom of one article. ‘I hope Chris forgets he’s retiring and comes back.’”

Previously the actor told Entertainment Tonight in 2023 the speculations about his break from acting.

“It all got a little sort of blown out of proportion,” he said.”I wanted to take time off because I’ve been working for 10 years, and I’ve got three kids that I want to spend more time with. The information about the predisposition… allowed me to make a whole bunch of other changes… from nutrition to my training to my mental fitness.”

Alzheimer’s has become a matter of concern for the Hemsworth family since his late grandfather had fought the disease and also his father Craig has shown the signs of the disease as per the Vanity Fair’s article reads.

Hemsworth shared with the magazine, “I know my dad is going through a transition of acceptance around ‘I’m not this big, strong man with all the answers who everybody looks to for guidance now.’”
