The Indian spin-off of Citadel starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu first look update is finally here. On Tuesday, Prime Video India finally shared the official first poster of this much anticipated series. In the announcement the title of the show features: Citadel Honey Bunny. Alongwith the poster Prime Video India wrote a long caption, “Prime Video has confirmed the Indian series within the Citadel universe will be called Citadel: Honey Bunny.”
Later on, Prime Video added, “Citadel: Honey Bunny has a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the 90s. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe.”
Varun and Samantha will be accompanied by Indian actors who were Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, Sikandar Kher.
The poster is yellow in colour titled, giving a peek into the characters of Varun and Samantha. The duo will play spy agents in the show and were seen holding a gun and while taking aim.
This show is the remake of an American show with the same name starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden as leads.
Previously, Samantha said at the press conference of the series about being a part of it, “I never would have imagined that I would do action. But today, for me, being at this event is already such a victory for me, because the last moment I didn’t really think I could do it. I didn’t think I would be a part of citadel. I’m extremely grateful to Raj, DK, Sita and Amazon for really coming to my rescue. I just had to prep physically. I am just so incredibly proud already that this is the way it is, this is the way it looks. I can’t believe – this is how it looks.”
About the plot of Citadel
The plot of the American show revolves around spies Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh are presumed killed during a mission in Italy when they are ambushed by Manticore agents. However, the duo cross paths later which leads to some unexpected events. So it isn’t wrong to presume that the Indian remake will follow a similar plot line as well.
However, Chopra replied to a fan when she was asked by a fans if Indian version is the series’ remake to which she responded, “it is not a REMAKE!!”
Moreover, Prime Video India wrote that “Prime Video has confirmed the Indian series within the Citadel universe will be called Citadel: Honey Bunny.”
The American series also starred Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, Osy Ikhile, Lesley Manville and Stanley Tucci.
