Halle Bailey and boyfriend DDG love being parents. The couple appeared together this Friday on the carpet of this year’s Recording Academy Honors presented by the Black Music Collective. The couple who welcomed their son Halo last month marked their first public appearance since welcoming their children. Halle Bailey said motherhood is wonderful
The Little Mermaid star and the It’s Not Me It’s You artist while talking with the media house revealed their experience as new parents.
“It’s wonderful,” Bailey gushed. “I love our baby so much. We’re so happy.”
While DDG said, “It’s amazing.”
The couple announced the arrival of their son on January 6 via an Instagram post. “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” the songstress wrote while sharing a photo of the newborn’s hand wearing a gold nameplate bracelet. “Welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️”
At the same time, DDG shared the same picture with the caption, “my biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love. baby halo.”
However, it isn’t the first time the couple ghused about their parenthood. Previously the rapper whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. labelled Bailey as a ‘great mom’.
He said in the YouTube video, “Me and Halle had a baby together. I wouldn’t chose no other person in the world to have a child with. We learning. She’s a great mom. It’s crazy. She’s amazing.”
“She’s a professional mom,” the rapper continued. “And we’re doing great.”
The couple was also extremely private throughout her pregnancy. The actress even covered her bump in a ruffled dress during the premiere of her film The Color Purple.
Previously in an interview, Bailey also talked about earning her first solo GRAMMY nomination for Best R&B Song for her single “Angel.”. She said of the nod, “It means so much!”
“This recognition means so much, we’re just happy to be here,” she continues.
“I’m just excited and I’m gonna try to celebrate. That’s why I forced myself to come out tonight!” the actress added. “I’m like, ‘Let’s have fun!’”
