This post comes two months after the couple made their red carpet-debut. They first sparked romance rumors in September following the Magic Mike star’s divorce from Sofía Vergara, with whom he has been married for seven years.
The duo announced their separation via a statement to Page Six on July 17. The statement reads, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce, As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Moreover, the actor states the reason for his separation from the Modern Family actress is “irreconcilable differences.”
Moreover, Vergara in an interview with Spanish magazine El País revealed the real reason for their separation.
“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom,” she shared. “I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.”
The 51-year-old who shares son Manolo with ex Joe Gonzalez, added, “I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children.”
On top of that, on an episode of CBS Sunday Morning, the actress also talked about the “surprising” media response to her divorce.
Griselda said at the show, “That’s part of being a celebrity. I knew it was going to happen. You can’t hide those things.”
She continued, “It wasn’t bad, I have to say the press was very respectful and very nice. I thought they were going to invent more things. You know how they usually [do], and I was surprised. They kind of just said what it was, and that was it. I’ve been moving on.”
