Matt Smith who played young Prince Philip in ‘The Crown’ season one and two believed that one of the members of the Royal family watched the show. It’s none other than the Late Queen Elizabeth II herself e. However, he wasn’t sure about its truth. The actor is currently playing the role of Demon Targaryen in the prequel of the Game of Thrones HBO series House of Dragon’. The actor gained a lot of recognition for his role as the late Queen consort.
Matt Smith said Queen has watched the film on a projector
The House of Dragon alum on his recent appearance on 15th Sep at The Today Show spoke about the rumours he heard. Smith said, “I heard the queen had watched it, and she used to watch it on a projector on a Sunday night, apparently.”
The 39-year-old also said how Prince Philip didn’t watch the famous Netflix series. As he said,” I know that Philip definitely didn’t.”Moreover, he detailed when one of his friends asked the late Duke of Edinburgh about the series. ” A friend of mine sat next to him at a dinner once, and he asked him, “My friend couldn’t resist. By the end of the meal, he was like, ‘Philip, I have to ask. Have you watched The Crown?’ And [he] apparently turned ’round to him and went, ‘Don’t be ridiculous.”- Smith said.
Furthermore, Smith said how he knew Prince Harry, the grandson of Prince Philip and The Queen watches the show. He detailed a sweet encounter with him.
“He walked up to me, and he went, ‘Grandad,’- he said.
However, Smith claimed he wasn’t sure whether the Prince still watches it or not.
The Crown season five will be released this year in November which centralises on the 1990s.
