While the hype of Mirzapur’s season 3 is full of fire, the producer, Ritesh Sidhwani, has discussed the resurgence of the popular character Munna Tripathi in the upcoming season. Despite being an antagonist Munna played by actor Divyenndu gained immense popularity and fame among the fans as well as criticism. In an interview with Film Companion Sidhwani noted that this much-loved character might have a comeback in the highly anticipated season 3 of the series. However, it isn’t the way the audience might expect. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Ritesh Sidhwani said Munna Tripathi will in an unexpected way
Talking with the entertainment portal while he was asked about the much-loved Munna bhaiya he added although the chances of his restriction are less, “But maybe there’s something interesting for which you will have to wait, but there is something where Munna will enter back into audiences’ lives.”
Meanwhile, as the ambiguity of the return of Munna’s character remains other popular star cast including Pankaj Tripathi reprising will be his role as Akhandanand Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya), Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, and Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Gajgamini Golu Gupta.
Moreover, in the recently unveiled teaser of ‘Mirzapur 3’ which has increased the hype, Pankaj Tripathi’s character asks, “Bhool toh nahi gaye humein? (Did you forget us?)”. Based on the clash of millionaire carpet exporter and the mafia don of Mirzapur with an upstanding lawyer, and his sons, Guddu and Bablu Mirzapur made its debut in 2018, and the second season was out two years after in 2020.
Previously, actor Ali Fazal also mentioned that season 3 will have new characters while some old ones including the renowned Munna Tripathi bid farewell to the last season.
In addition Fazal also unveiled the motivation for his character Guddu as he recently shared a video from the neo-noir psychological horror film ‘Angel Heart’ starring Robert De Niro and Mickey Rourke in his Instagram, captioning, “One of my all time favourite scenes, in a not very famous film.. but these two riffing. Some of GUDDU’s egg inspirations came from here – go guess which part (sic)”.
Needless to say, fans can’t wait to witness the twists and turns of this much-anticipated upcoming series.
However, the release date of the new season is yet to be announced.
