Oliver Hudson Opened Up About Childhood Trauma Get From Mom Goldie Hawn

Oliver Hudson got candid about the darkest moments of his childhood. The son of actress Goldie Hawn and her ex-husband Bill Hudson shared he discovered during a recent wellness retreat the trauma he faced during his childhood due to his mother’s Hollywood lifestyle. On the March 17 episode of the podcast he co hosts with sister Kate Hudson, Sibling Rivalry Oliver gives an insight on his difficult childhood. Let’s delve into the complete details of this story.

Oliver Hudson said his mother was the one that he had almost the most trauma about

The 47-year-old told his sister Kate, “I went in there thinking it was all going to be about my dad and then [Kurt Russell], my stepdad who raised me, My mom was going to be easy-breezy, because she was always the constant in my life.”

Despite, as he noted, “It was totally flipped on its head: My mother was the one that came up the most, my mother was the one that I had almost the most trauma about, interestingly enough.”

Moreover, he detailed being “unprotected” with his mom at times, as he shared, “She would be working and away or she had new boyfriends that I didn’t really like. She would be living her life.”

Although Oliver praised his mother by saying, “she was an amazing mother,” as he feels as a kid who didn’t have the support of a father , he “needed her to be there, and she just wasn’t sometimes.”

However, the siblings often being vocal about the difficulties they faced following their parent’s divorce such as solitude of being estranged by a father Oliver still hasn’t had a bad blood for him.

“When I was with him it was incredible,” he said of his relationship with his father. “He paid attention to me, we played football, we played basketball, we were on the beach, he taught me how to fish.”

He continues, “He was so present, but he was never there, you know what I mean?”

Meanwhile, Goldie also opened up about her urge to develop a close relationship with her children in an interview with Today.

As she wants it to be by “loving, paying attention, listening, being there, caring, and [focusing] on them.”

“Mothers are everything,” the actress continued. “I feel that I’m everything to them and, of course, they’re everything to me.”
