Sydney Sweeney candidly spoke out about the romance rumours of her and her Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell. In an August 9 interview with Variety, the Euphoria star opened up about the reality of her relationship with Powell. The pair first sparkled up romance rumours in April after they were spotted being too cosy with each other on-screen and off-screen.
Sydney Sweeney said Glen and she doesn’t really care
The 25-year-old said about the rumours, “It’s a rom-com, That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much.”
Moreover, she explained the reason things are going so well between them. “He’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker,” she said. “We’re excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, ‘That’s really funny.'”
The pair added fuel to the rumours after the White Lotus alum revealed her nickname for Powell at the stage at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas.
“We love seeing ourselves on the big screen,” the actor joked, to which Sydney responded, “Oh, please, Top Gun.”
Therefore, he replied, “I love when she calls me that.”
In spite of the rumours, Sweeney is in a happy relationship with Jonathan Davino with whom she got engaged in March 2022.
A source said at the time, “It was a very intimate proposal, and she had no idea it was coming. They are really private about their relationship but are a great couple together.”
Meanwhile, the Top Gun: Maverick star back in April parted ways from girlfriend Gigi Paris after three years.
After the breakup, the model shared a cryptic note on Instagram, which reads: “Know your worth & onto the next.”
