Bawaal co-stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are set to pair again in Dharma Productions’s upcoming rom-com Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. On February 22, Karan Johar took to Instagram to share the film’s first look starring Varun and Janhvi. Moreover, this film will be helmed by Shashank Khaitan who previously worked with Dharma in popular films like, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Dhadak. The film is all set to hit the big screen on April 18, 2025. Johar reposted the teaser clip from Dharma Movies calling the film, “wrapped with entertainment.” In the video clip credits it will be “directed by SK.” Seemingly indicating at Shashank Khaitan.

KJo posted the video clip of the movie along with the caption, writing, “A kahaani of ‘Sanskari’ & his to-be ‘Kumari’! This love story wrapped with entertainment is coming to the big screens! #SunnySanskarikitulsikumari in cinemas, 18th April 2025!”
Varun and Janhvi shared their excitement
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor shared the video on their Instagram story depicting their excitement for the film. “Can’t wait to be back on the sets with Shashank Khaitaan and bring some funny days” Dhawan shared, meanwhile Kapoor conveyed, “Your Sanskari is on his way to get his Kumari! This love story wrapped with entertainment is coming to the big screens.”
Previously, a source of Indian media house Pinkvilla disclosed some more facts about the upcoming film. The source shared,”When it’s Shashank and Varun, everyone assumes the film to be a part of the Dulhania franchise. Over the past year, Shashank has crafted a new romantic comedy with a quirky title and is in advanced talks with Varun and Janhvi to take on the lead roles. It will be a quintessential romantic comedy, staying true to the genre that the Hindi Film Industry has been known for over the years.”

Besides this Dharma rom-com the Mili alum is also an all star in Ulajh along with Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, and Rajesh Tailang. In addition she will make her Telugu debut Devara alongside Jr. NTR in the coming year and another Dharma film Mr. and Mrs. Mahi with Rajkumar Rao is also on her list.
As for Varun, he is all set to return as an action hero in Baby John, directed by Kalees and supported by Altee, which will also release this year. Moreover, he is also casted in Hindi remake of Priyanka Chopra, Citadel.
