Zac Efron addressed the moment he was sure that his 2006 film High School Musical would be a big success. In a video for Vanity Fair published on July 2 he revealed while filming the “Get’cha Head in the Game” scene from the movie he was sure that the movie is destined to become a big hit. Apart from Efron, actors like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman also gained immense success after the film. Let’s check out what he has said.

Zac Efron said he had two three-hour rehearsals with basketballs

Zac said of the movie, “Not many people know this but High School Musical was just a made for TV movie and it was very small, so we had a very condensed shooting schedule and very limited rehearsal time.” Moreover, he added that director Kenny Ortega had big ambitions, “I think he was pleasantly surprised when all the boys were excited to not only fulfill what he wanted but to take it one step further.”

He also noted that the “incredibly motivated” crew including Corbin Bleu, Chris Warren, Ryne Sanborn and the film’s choreographer Chucky Lapow made up the East High Wildcats basketball team surprisingly fast.

“think we might’ve practiced it for two days prior to doing that all in sync,” Efron continued. “We maybe had two three-hour rehearsals with basketballs. After five takes, we nailed it.”

He also continues, “They didn’t cut from start to finish and all of us were blown away. And I think that was the first time all of us went, ‘Is this gonna be cool?’”

Despite not visiting the scene for years the Family Affair actor revealed he is extremely fond of it.“This felt really cool,” he recounted the moment. “It was a really special moment and I’m still just proud of all those guys for doing that cause it was hard.”

Moreover, he was also impressed by his own basketball skills at that time,“I really drilled all those shots. There’s no CGI in there—I don’t think we had the budget for that.”

The actor also expressed how much the cast and crew continues to mean to him by adding a sweet message for them mentioning director Kenny Ortega , “I love you, Kenny. I miss you guys.”
