Zayn Malik addressed his personal growth. In a new interview with NYLON magazine, the “Pillowtalk” singer made a comment on his 2013 engagement to Little Mix star Perrie Edwards while he was still a member of One Direction. Moreover, he said at that time he was unaware of the seriousness of that decision. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Zayn Malik opened up about his relationship
The 31-year-old told the outlet, “From 17 to 21, I was in a relationship, I was engaged and [planned to get] married and I didn’t know anything about anything at that point. I thought I did, because I was 21. I was legally allowed to do everything, but I didn’t know s**t.”
After the duo called it quits Zayn moved on with supermodel Gigi Hadid. From then Gigi and Zayn got involved in an on-off relationship for several years while being together the couple also welcomed a daughter together in 2020. However, sadly the romance finally ended for good in 2021 after Zayn became involved in a fued with Gigi’s mother Yolanda.
“From 21 to 27, I was with Gi, and we had a kid, and I didn’t really take much time to get to know myself,” he tells of his former lover.
As for now Edwards is engaged to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the couple also share a son together. Meanwhile, Hadid is speculated to be in a romantic relationship with actor Bradley Cooper.
For his part, the former One Direction member noted he’s not currently looking for love after he was previously “kicked off” dating apps for appearing to be too impersonating.
“I’m really content and happy with being single for the first time in my life,” he added.
Prior to this interview, during his appearance on the Zach Sang Show earlier this week the Dusk Till Dawn singer made a surprising revelation about his love life.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever actually truly been in love at this point,” he added.
However, Zayn is now experiencing a new type of love which is the love for his daughter Khai. “I’m in love with her as my child,” Malik explained,”in love with somebody who is a complete separate entity — they’re not my family, I have no blood with them, like, I’m in love with this person, you know? I don’t know.”
Malik is all set release to his country-influenced Room Under the Stairs this month.
