Wedding bells are ringing. Zooey Deschanel and Property Brothers’ Jonathan Scott are all set to walk the aisle together. On August 14, the couple announced their engagement news through their official Instagram account. The couple has been public about their relationship since 2019. They met while filming a Carpool Karaoke segment for The Late Late Show With James Corden with Scott’s twin brother and co-star Drew Scott and Deschanel’s sister, Bones star Emily Deschanel.
Jonathan proposes to Zooey during a family trip to Scotland
As per the sources of Page Six, the Property Brothers star proposed to the New Girl alum during a family trip to Scotland. The pair announced the happy news via their official Instagram account, where they shared a photo of them together showing the engagement ring with the caption, “Forever starts now!!!”
Previously, in a 2020 appearance on his sister-in-law Linda Scott’s podcast At Home With Linda and Drew Scott he opened up about her first meeting with his lady love. He told his brother and sister-in-law, “I thought I was playing it cool, I didn’t think anything of it. The producer said I was flirting so bad, like, so hard, they had to cut a bunch of that out.”
Zooey, who is also present at the show, responded, “You were very gentlemanly.”
Moreover, in January 2020 Scott shared some facts about his girlfriend on NBC’s Today show.
He said of his girlfriend, “People keep saying to me, like, ‘Jonathan, you feel so alive.’ I’m like, ‘Was I a dud before? What happened?’ I will admit she brings out the best in me and she makes me want to be the best version of myself.”
Later on, some months after he opens up about their engagement rumors on SiriusXM’s The Covino & Rich Show. He said, “I’m pretty confident that I will ask my girlfriend to marry me before I tell a reporter.”
