June 15 onwards Facebook employees at all levels can request permanent full-time work after the Covid situation gets better.

The tech giant is doubling down its flexible work policies and announced this news on Wednesday.

Earlier, senior employees at certain levels were only able to request this type of arrangement.

Also, the remote work policy varied between different departments – as told by a spokesperson.

As per the declaration given by the CEO Mark Zuckerberg on remote work last summer – employees working remote permanently and move to different locations could expect pay adjustment based on market rates.

But for those who need an office to work, the firm recommends them to be onsite at least half of the time.

They will be allowed to work on a mixed schedule for the likely future.

Facebook plans to open offices in the US at 50% capacity by September, with a full return for those who wish to do so tentatively scheduled for October.

It also declared that for the rest of the year, employees will get 20 business days to work from anywhere. As long as they have work authorization there.

And it will expand remote work across international borders for those who would like to live and work in abroad.

From June 15, Facebook will support interested people who want to move from the US to Canada; Europe, the Middle East and Africa will be able to move and work remotely from the UK.

Previously, this was only allowed to tech and recruiting employees.

Facebook plans to expand the international locations where employees can move based on employee demand and where the company operates.

“We’re committed to making sure everyone has the opportunity to do the best work of their careers at Facebook, and we’ll continue to build on these and other practices over time,” said a Facebook representative.
