John Krasinski and Steve Carell Shared If They’ll Ever Appear in ‘The Office’ Spinoff

John Krasinski is not reprising his role as Jim Halpert in The Office for it’s recently announced spin-off. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight from the premiere of his new film, IF, he revealed he is all set to do a cameo in the new Peacock show as he is ready to do a favor for Greg Daniels who is the executive producer of both the original and new show although he hadn’t been asked yet. As for the popular NBC sitcom he is resting easy knowing that the legacy is being carried in the hands of Gleeson. Moreover, Krasinski’s friend and IF co-star, Steve Carell who played the unforgettable and sometimes annoying Michael Scott in the show is excited to watch the “fantastic” Gleeson however, he hasn’t any plan to return in the series. John Krasinski said he would do anything for Greg Daniels

The 44-year-old actor-director who appeared in the iconic show with Mindy Kaling, Ellie Kemper and Ed Helms said of the creator Greg Daniels, “As of now, I haven’t been asked. But the truth is I’d do anything for Greg Daniels, it sounds like they have a really fun idea.”

Although Krasinski’s appearance is still under the dark About Time star Domhnall Gleeson and Italian actress Sabrina Impacciatore who is best known for her role in season 2 of The White Lotus are among the confirmed cast members of the spinoff.

Moreover, Krasinski also talked about passing on his legacy to Gleeson with whom he is currently doing a film. “I’m actually working with Domhnall Gleeson right now in Guy Ritchie’s movie,” John noted. “He’s so good and he’s so sweet — he’s going to crush in the show.”

As for Krasinski’s friend and IF co-star, Steve Carell who also played the Michael Scott in the show said he does not have any plans to make an appearance in the new series after sharing his excitement of watching Gleeson in the spinoff.

The new series’s development will start in July of this year, and details about a possible premiere date have also yet to be unveiled.

IF will hit the theatres on May 17.
