Miss Teen USA 2023 runner-up Stephanie Skinner opted not to take the winning title after the stepping down of UmaSofia Srivastava. The title arrives less than a week after UmaSofia shared that she was leaving behind her Miss Teen USA role after Miss USA 2023 winner Noelia Voigt’s resignation. In a recent interview with People, Stephanie revealed the cause behind her decision. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.

Stephanie Skinner said she will never give up on her character although the title of Miss Teen USA is her biggest dream

The 19-year-old told the outlet, “I worked so hard and sacrificed so much for this goal to become Miss Teen USA, and although this title was a dream of mine, I believe one thing I will never give up is my character.”

Although the Miss New York Teen USA runner-up admitted that it was an “extremely difficult” choice to make, she was also revealed to be extremely confident that it was “the right decision.”

The announcement comes less than a week after the winner UmaSofia announced her decision of leaving behind her Miss Teen USA role after Miss USA 2023 winner Noelia Voigt resigned.

On May 8, UmaSofia wrote in her Instagram post, “After careful consideration, I’ve decided to resign as I find that my personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization.”

Moreover, she explained how she never thought of calling off her duties under such circumstances and also said to be acknowledged for getting this opportunity.

“At the end of the day,” she continued, “I am so lucky to have had the privilege of this experience, but if this is just a chapter, I know that the story of my life will truly be incredible.”

Meanwhile, Miss USA Noelia Voigt shared the news of her leaving the duties two days before UmaSofia due to “focus on her mental health.”

On May 6, she shared an emotional post on Instagram noting, “I realize this may come as a large shock to many. Never compromise your physical and mental well-being. Our health is our wealth. A million thank you’s to all of you for your constant and unwavering support. Time to write the next chapter.”

Needless to say, this back-to-back rejection from the beauty queens comes as a huge shock for the pageant show lovers.
