South superstar Kamal Haasan is all set to set the theatre on fire. Directed by Shankar, this movie is grabbing immense anticipation and is now set to hit theatres in June 2024. The film which is the remake of the 1996 film of the same name will narrate the story of the iconic character Senapathy, a freedom fighter who turns vigilante to fight corruption. Haasan will reprise his role as Senapathy. The first “Indian” movie depicts Haasan in dual roles, as both a father and his son. On April 6, the makers finally unveiled the poster of this much anticipated action-packed thriller. Let’s check out the complete details of this story.
Indian 2 will be released in June of this year
The poster shows Kamal’s character as a man with greying hair dressed in a white shirt and a vesthi, while his hands are tied in handcuffs on the back. He stands strong in the vibrant bright yellow and orange while some figures are barely showing.
The official poster also shows the subtitle of the film that reads, ‘Zero Tolerance.’ These words imprinted in it also show the highly awaited release date, which read: “Releasing in June 2024. In Cinemas Worldwide.”
Meanwhile, Kamal also shared the poster and wrote in the caption: “Gear up for the comeback of Senapathy! INDIAN-2 🇮🇳 is all set to storm in cinemas this JUNE. Mark your calendar for the epic saga!”
Previously in an interview with The Hindu, he first shared the news of wrapping the shooting of this movie. He said, “I can’t make up for the lost time. Also, we cannot speed up production as the quantity doesn’t matter, quality does. We have completed Indian 2 and Indian 3. The post-production work of Indian 2 is currently happening. We will start work on Indian 3 post-production after we finish it.”
Apart from the superstar other prominent actors including Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Vivekh, Kajal Agarwal, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Delhi Ganesh, Manobala, Jagan, Kalidas Jayaram, and Gulshan Grover will also seen in pivotal roles.
The 69-year-old superstar was last seen in and gained enormous recognition and critical acclaim from the 2022 film Vikram. Needless to say, it’ll be an incredible moment for the fans to witness his grand comeback in the theatres.
