Lana Del Rey opened up about her rare appearance in Taylor Swift’s “Snow on the Beach.” Taylor’s 2022 album Midnight’s fourth track “Snow on the Beach” features Lana. However, her voice only appears a few times in the background which makes her fans very disappointed. Del Rey also co-writes the tune with Taylor and producer Jack Antonoff. On February 24, in a recent interview with Billboard, the singer finally shared the reason behind her minimum appearances in the song.
Lana Del Rey said she was focused on the production
On February 24, in a recent interview with Billboard, the 37-year-old revealed, “Had I known, I would have sung the entire second verse like she wanted. My job as a feature on a big artist’s album is to make sure I help add to the production of the song, so I was more focused on the production.”
Moreover, she revealed Taylor was “very adamant that she wanted me to be on the album. She said, “I thought it was nice to be able to bridge that world. since Jack and I work together and so do Jack and Taylor.”
On October 28, Swift revealed she is a “massive fan of Lana Del Ray.” She said in an Instagram video, “The fact that I get to exist at the same time as her is an honor and a privilege, and the fact that she would be so generous as to collaborate with us on this song is something I’m gonna be grateful for life. The song is about falling in love with someone at the same time they are falling in love with you.”
She also continues, “It’s in this sort of cataclysmic, fated moment where you realize someone feels exactly the same way that you feel at the same moment.”
