Sanjeeda Shaikh Shared Her Excitement On Being Part of Sanjay Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi’

Actress Sanjeeda Shaikh has been a popular name in the Indian Television industry making her mark on the big screen. Shaikh who has recently appeared in a small role in the Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan starring ‘Fighter’ was immensely praised for her strong presence and performance. It isn’t an end for her since she is all set to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi’. The most anticipated series will start streaming on Netflix in 2024. In a recent interview with India Today, the actress exclusively talked about the experience. Let’s check out the actress’s comments. 

Sanjeeda Shaikh said she felt like a dream in the series 

Sanjeeda told the outlet, “Each day when I entered the sets of ‘Heeramandi,’ it felt like a dream because you are looking everywhere, and you are enamoured. Moreover, you have Bhansali sir in front of you.”

Sanjeeda was accompanied by other prominent names of the industry including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, and Sharmin Segal. Talking about her co-, the actress noted, “Everyone is different. We have Manisha ma’am, who is so different. We have seen her craft. Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi; everyone is very different. Just looking at them and observing them, you learn something. The energy has been great. During the process of shooting, we did not interact with each other so much, because we were so engrossed, and we were so into the scene, and everyone wanted to give their best. But when we were just ending the show, we all became very close.”

Streaming on Netflix this year, the series which is based on the prostitutes of the British Raj in the 1940s marked director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT debut.

‘Heeramandi’ cast celebrates SLB’s birthday

Bhansali, who celebrated his birthday on 24th February, also received warm wishes from his ‘Heeramandi’ cast. 

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari who also worked with him before in Padmavat shared a BTS image from the set writing, “Happy birthday my dearest Sanjay sir. Thank you for the unending inspiration, your mind, your heart, for never ever allowing us to give up.”

The actress added, “Thank you for your fierce passion, the endless beauty, the detail, the laughter, the music, the dancing, the yummiest ghar Ka nashta which is like an Akshay patram. And most importantly, thank you for your love and belief. May you always be surrounded by all that you love and all the people who love you. Love you sir.”

Meanwhile, Manisha Koirala also wished the director by sharing a beautiful note, which says, “Happy birthday dear #sanjaybhansali who is clearly amongst the greats in Indian cinema!! I had seen the spark in the beginning but no one could tell at what heights you would reach! Still the journey continues…So very proud of you my dear friend.”

Moreover, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sonakshi Sinha also penned a heartwarming birthday wish for him.
