HBO’s most anticipated television series ‘House of Dragon’, the prequel of internationally famous series ‘Games of thrones’ is all set to release on 21st August of this month. The original series has been concluded in 2019, but there are a lot of questions left about the lineage of ‘The Dragon Mother’ aka Daenerys Targaryen, so we ca assume this series will definitely resolve all of the questions about the House of Targaryen. Critics and audiences love the trailer and showering it with lots of praise. Moreover, looking at the trailer there is no doubt that the new series will be an action-packed and full of gore and intense family drama.

Details we can get from the Trailer

Based on the book ‘Fire & Blood’ by George R.R Martin, the plot of the series revolves around 300 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones. It apprised the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war ‘Dance of the Dragons’.

The trailer started with a scene of King Viserys Targaryen talking about his dream of seeing his chosen heir on the Iron throne. His first-born daughter Rhaenyra was considered to be  his successor but “no queen has sat the iron throne”. Thus many of the kingdom wanted his brother Daemon Targaryen as an heir.

Furthermore, many tense situations happen between the Targaryen brothers. In another scene,Viserys decides to reveal the  name of his new heir ,but his brother Daemon cuts him short, “I am your heir.” But besides having lots of obstacles, Rhaenyra as the first born child of the king wants to be the queen of the iron throne as she says ”When I am the queen, I will create a new order.”

Thus, the situation hinted at a battle for occupying the iron throne and the presence of the dragons clearly indicating their role in the fight for the iron throne.

Is ‘House of Dragon’ a worthy prequel of ‘Game of Thrones’ ?

The pilot episode of ‘House of Dragon’ was shown by Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapotchnik, the co-executive producer and co-showrunners of the show in Los Angeles at the end of July.
